  18. This is not a demo software but a fully functional end-user package. 
  19. This Evaluation will expire after 20 execution of the LEADVIEW.EXE program
  20. or 30 days from the day you recieve it. The purpose of this evaluation 
  21. version is designed to give you a working understanding of 
  22. LEAD Technologies' image processing capabilities, and how the image 
  23. processing functions may be used or incorporated in your application.
  24. This is the evaluation copy of LEADVIEW for Windows. The No royalties DLL
  25. has all the functions and speed as in this evaluation. LEADVIEW 32 for 
  26. windows & LEADTOOLS DLL 32 for windows runs much faster and more flexible.

  29. Starting LEADVIEW For Windows
  30. -----------------------------
  31. You can start LEADVIEW Fow Windows two ways. Either make an icon for the EXE
  32. file or use Run under the File menu in the Program Manager. In either case, 
  33. the file to execute is LEADVIEW.EXE.

  38. PC running Microsoft Windows 3.0 with 256 colors 
  39. or higher display drivers. LEADVIEW For Windows also take advantage 
  40. of higher resolutions as well.

  50. Compression Information
  51. -----------------------
  52. LEADVIEW For Windows supports both JPEG (JFIF, JTIF, & JPG) and LEAD's
  53. proprietary CMP compressed file format. When compressing an image,
  54. you can use either options as well as predefined options. Also, you can
  55. enter a Qfactor value of 2 through 255 to determine the degree of loss 
  56. for compression.

  58. When using LEAD CMP, a predefined Perfect Quality Option 2 (PQ2) will
  59. give the highest possible compression without loss of image quality.

  61. When compressing with JPEG (JFIF, or JTIF), LEADVIEW supports 
  62. 4:4:4 (1:1:1), 4:2:2, and 4:1:1 color sub-samplings. (4:4:4 will produce
  63. the best Quality compressed image, while 4:1:1 will produce the smallest file
  64. size.  4:2:2 is the middle between the two.)
